There are tangible benefits to be found, too. The Music Builds Tour has discovered this, creating a charity concert series that raises money for Habitat for Humanity. The international relief organization is known for building homes—sometimes simple ones, but ones that give much needed shelter to families all over the world.

Often, when we think about charities like that, people imagine them going overseas to impoverished lands where malnourished children go without food and education. Unfortunately, there is some truth to this stereotype. But there’s also plenty of work to be done right here in the United States, and the Music Builds Tour helps give the American families that are in need of shelter a way to get on their feet and achieve the basic fundamentals they need in life.

The tour is improving the quality of life, and does so by providing a great series of shows for earnest music fans that want to make a difference. The touring show crosses the entire country, bringing music to the people, and all in the name of helping those less fortunate.

In 2008, the Music Builds Tour is headlined by Third Day and Switchfoot, two hot bands that have been very successful in the past during tours, and are now directing their efforts to help Habitat for Humanity. Robert Randolph and the Family Band and Jars of Clay are also included in the lineup.

The festival is sponsored partially by Hollywood for Habit for Humanity, an organization that bands celebrities to help in the cause of building homes for those who can’t afford them.
